Born in a Family Kitchen
Mireya's started the way the best things do — not with a business plan, but with a pot of pinto beans on the stove and a house full of people who were hungry. Mireya's, being named after our daughter, learns on family togetherness and wholesomeness. Family is where it all began for Hugo, our head chef and owner. Hugo learned to cook in his hometown of Gonzalez in Mexico at young age. Watching his Ama (mom) and Abuela(grandma) coax flavor from dried chiles, toasted seeds, and slow-burning coals, he took these tidbits that he seen as a child and has turned them into the deliciousness that you enjoy here now at Mireya's.
Mireya's Mexican Restaurant opened its doors to share what had always been shared freely: real food, made with care, for anyone who pulled up a chair. You will not find anything in our kitchen pre-made. The meat, veggies, cheese is all cut by hand. The chicken and steak seasoned by hand. Tamales made by hands that tire from working the Masa until it's just right. We take no short cuts here because we feel that tradition is what sets us apart and in that tradition is where you find the flavor and the heart.

We source fresh produce, quality meats, and authentic Mexican pantry staples. If we wouldn't eat it ourselves, we don't serve it.

Hugo's wife and right hand in the restaurant. Cathy has been cooking alongside Hugo and helping to take care of all the behind-the-scenes things.
